Feb11 THANKS
We would like to thank all the wonderful people who assisted and supported us during the recent floods. We are much more fortunate than many in SE Qld and our local community as we have not lost loved ones or had our personal possessions damaged or lost and for this we are very thankful.
Like many along Lacey’s Creek and many other rivers and creeks in the district our dairy farm suffered massive damage in the highest flood we have ever seen, being at least 4ft higher than 1974 by which we all set our bench marks. With a milking herd of 160 cows we needed to get some things in place very quickly to get cows milked, water for all our stock and fencing repaired to prevent our herd leaving home to look for better pastures in Dayboro. We would especially like to thank our staff Andrew & family, James and BJ for a sterling effort. Thanks also to our family and friends especially Di and Jeff & crew for all your assistance in pulling rubbish off fences and moving cows. We would also like to acknowledge Peter from Ocean View Electrical for working so quickly with us to get water pumping and to the Energex crew who worked hard in our area to restore power and who kept us informed about when power was likely to be restored. A big thank you to all who called to offer assistance and support and to those who provided little special touches such as home cooking and special fruit and veg deliveries, it is much appreciated. Our girls are as back to normal as possible with no loss of stock and production will return when the mud washes off the grass and we can obtain new supplies of hay. Thanks again to everyone who assisted in any way and to those that are assisting others in our community.
