Dec2014_ LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor,
I feel compelled to write to the Dayboro community.
I have been overwhelmed and deeply humbled by the support the Dayboro community has shown me during the recent difficulties I have faced.
I have worked as the director of the Dayboro Community Kindergarten for the past 23 years and have also raised my family in the district. I have always felt privileged to work in such an active and supportive community and have continuously been proud of the involvement and dedication families have shown.
In 23 years Dayboro Community Kindergarten has grown from a simple building on a grassy mound to the magnificent place it is today. The grounds and facilities are testimony to the hard work and dedication of many, many families over the past 23 years. Strong and supportive links have also been established with the local businesses, local council, state government and many community benefit funds.
I have also been grateful for the support the parenting body has shown for the sustainability, healthy eating and independent learning programs offered at Dayboro Kindergarten. As early childhood curriculums have grown and changed I believe our program has gone from strength to strength.
I have always appreciated being surrounded by dedicated and visionary staff who work tirelessly as a team to offer the children of Dayboro Community Kindergarten a remarkable and well-rounded program.
None of this however prepared me for the overwhelming support which the community, as well as local and state members of parliament, showed me during recent issues. I am truly and deeply grateful to all the people who took the time to write letters, make phone calls and take both direct and indirect action. As I said before I am truly humbled.
Thank you to my Staff, 2014 committee, Local and State members and the incredible Dayboro community. I am unequivocally proud to be a part of this place.
Robyn Hoban, Director
Dayboro Community Kindergarten.
