Dec2010 POLICE NEWS
Sgt Robinson and I would like to wish everyone in this fantastic community a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Please keep your family and yourself safe over December and January and we look forward to seeing you in 2011.
BURGLARIES
In October 2010 two burglary offences were committed in the Dayboro Division. One of these offences was committed at Armstrong Creek whereby the offenders have jemmied open a security door and glass sliding door. The other offence was committed in Dayboro where the offenders opened a closed but unlocked rear door. Both houses were on acreage and partly secluded from neighbouring properties. Jewellery and personal paperwork was stolen. This is a significant reminder that even though your house is secured thieves may still be able to break into your homes so please hide/secure your jewellery, car keys and any valuables because these items appear to be the targets.
TRAFFIC CRASHES
Over the last 6 weeks there were 5 traffic crashes in the division – one of these was very serious. As Summer and Christmas approaches please be vigilant on our roads and remember the Fatal 4 – seatbelts, drink driving, speeding and fatigue. Also note, that as tourist and bicycle traffic may increase over the next few months please be patient because visitors do not know our roads and intersections like we do.
GOING ON HOLIDAYS?
If you are going away on holidays over Christmas please let your neighbours know and you can also register your house in the ‘vacant house register’ at the Dayboro Police Station. This will inform Ken and I of emergency contact details and we will also aim to patrol your street in your absence.
NEW ‘NO PARKING’
Residents are reminded that outside Terah’s Restaurant on the corner of Williams St and Heathwood St is now ‘No Parking’. This has only been recently changed after numerous complaints from the community regarding visibility issues whilst turning out of Heathwood St onto Williams St. Please remember that the two car parking spaces that were located there are now gone and that area is now no parking.
Thank you
