Dec2010 CATHEDRAL VISIT TO DAYBORO ANGLICAN

St Aidan’s Dayboro Anglican Church recently hosted a bus tour group from St John’s Cathedral Brisbane.  The group stopped in for a home-made Devonshire tea, and the chance to view the historic building, which will celebrate its centenary in 2011.

St Aidan’s thanks those who have contributed their historic stories about events at the church in earlier times.  Some remember George Clarke, who used to pick up the children of the district in the back of his truck to take them to Sunday school, then take them all home again afterwards.  Please keep sending your stories, by email to Belinda Pollard at smallbluedog@gmail.com, or by post to the parish office at 2 Wyllie Street, Petrie 4502.  The church plans to put together a centenary booklet full of St Aidan’s and Dayboro memories.

The church is now gearing up for the Christmas celebration of Holy Communion and carol singing at 7pm on Christmas Eve.  All residents of the Dayboro area are invited, as well as visitors and guests.
