Dayboro Tennis Club News
Dayboro’s courts have been very busy over the past few weeks, with increased court hire, school holiday playdates and even a couple of birthday parties, it’s fantastic to see our community getting active.
Christmas party hire is available, but get in early to avoid disappointment. It is advisable to email us at dayborotennis@gmail.com with enquiries or contact us via our facebook page.
We will be holding an Open Day in October (date to be confirmed) with AGM to follow. Stay up-to-date via facebook.
Our Open Day will see courts open for everyone to enjoy with a relaxing BBQ and bar for those wanting to take a break. Membership for 2016 will be available on the day with giveaways and lucky draws. Our AGM will follow.
As the days are heating up we would like to remind court users about sun safety, especially with children. As the courts have full sun, exposure is very high. Hats and sunscreen are advised. If you are visiting courts for lessons after school, it may be an idea to top up water bottles as well as sunsceen! The water fountain is at end of footpath next to the Arts and Crafts Cottage. On occasion we may have the canteen open during lessons – this is dependent on volunteers’ availability – hopefully over coming months we will have this open regularly.
Our monthly social tennis for experienced players runs on the first Saturday of the month from 4pm. If you would like to have some competitive play every now and then, pop down to the courts or contact us for more info.
Unfortunately our kids fixtures came to an end as we didn’t have the numbers. We have not given up though.
Our committee is eager to get us all moving regardless of age and level. We are hoping to have more open days throughout the year, school holiday fun and a number of social tennis programs for all levels.
If you would like to get involved with the club or maybe you have a child playing on Tuesdays and would like to be included in canteen roster, let us know!
