DAYBORO FLOOD VIDEOS of Jan 11 2011
The lead-up to the flooding is similar in both cases as regards the large volume of rainfall that was received in the days leading up to "the event".
Records on the black and white photos do not disclose when the photos were actually taken i.e. whether it was taken at the height of the flooding, leading up to the maximum height or some time after the water started to receed.
With modern technology we have more avenues to collect and display this information but, even then, often the vital pieces are left out e.g. the time that the photo or footage (in the case of videos) was taken.
The footage in this YouTube video was taken at 10.53am by local resident Tony Gardiner. This was after they were given the OK to walk through the floodwater.
Starting at our Bank (Electricity Credit Union) this footage pans up Williams Street, across to the Dayboro Butchery, Eagle Boys Pizza and Terah’s Restaurant then back towards Dayboro Cottage:
