HOUSTON SEEKS MAYORALTY

Long term Redcliffe Councillor, Dr. Peter Houston has entered the Mayoral Race for the new Regional Council of Moreton Bay. 

Cr. Houston, with a total of 17 years on Redcliffe Council, feels that the initiative he had shown on Redcliffe City Council in beautifying and promoting the area has brought Redcliffe forward considerably over the last 16 years and the same initiative is needed to set up the new Council to be a constructive and productive unit, with good outcomes for all existing staff.

Happy New Year!  I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and safe Christmas and festive season. 

With the start of the school year, I would urge everyone to remember to drive safely near schools and to be especially careful where buses pick up and drop off children.  As you know, children can be unpredictable and drivers need to be prepared for the unexpected.

WELCOME BACK

Well, the all too short Christmas/New Year break is behind us and everyone will have been gearing up for return to work, preparing for school, keeping the weeds under control, mowing the lawns, signing the kids on for sport or for our volunteers getting ready for another year of community service.  With local government elections taking place on 15^th March, I look forward to the opportunity of continuing to work with the community and applying my skills and experience in meeting the challenges brought about by creation of Australia’s third largest council.  It will be critical to us all for this amalgamation to be as smooth as possible so that the services, facilities and lifestyle we have grown to enjoy in Pine Rivers are protected.  Have a good year.
