Moving childrens hospital will cost lives

px_200dpi.jpgLNP Candidate for Pine Rivers, Luke Mellers, has spoken for the first time about a near personal tragedy that he feels should end the debate about relocating Brisbane Royal Children’s Hospital to Brisbane’s southside.
In June last year, Mellers’ one-week old baby, Anabelle, began suffering breathing problems and seizures.

COUNCIL IN MOVE TO GAIN MORE SPORTS FACILITIES

Moreton Bay region could gain more sports facilities by further utilising school grounds.
The Moreton Bay Regional Council will discuss the proposal with Education Queensland and principals of relevant schools.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said a number of schools in the region had the potential for shared use of sporting facilities.

Council has released a new environmental booklet to help residents in Moreton Region identify and control weedy vine species.
The booklet – Vines of the Moreton Bay Region – is part of council’s Living with the Environment educational series and is available at customer service centres, environmental centres, libraries and via council’s website www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au

Council to combat mozzies

Council covers 25,000 hectares to combat mozzies
Moreton Bay Regional Council is keeping mosquito numbers down this summer with its control program covering nearly 25,000 hectares so far this summer.
Council officers have carried out regular treatments of known mosquito breeding sites in recent months, with the latest aerial spraying of salt marshes conducted following king tides.
