I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome students back from the summer break, particularly those beginning their ‘milestone’ schooling years.
Moving from prep to Year 1 is no doubt an exciting step for those students, and I’m sure those Year 8s beginning high school are filled with anticipation.

When I wrote the first column for 2011 this time last year it was a very distressing time for us all with the devastating floods that hit the region. It has been a difficult year for those immediately affected while they worked through insurance issues and rebuilt their homes and businesses and for some this is still ongoing.
