On December 22 2013 there were 44,000 Australian Bass Fingerlings released into Lake Samsonvale.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Division 7 Councillor David Dwyer said Council provided $7,000 for the purchase of fingerlings as part of its commitment to biodiversity in local waterways.

Member for Pine Rivers, Seath Holswich’s commitment to improving road safety has been recognised through his appointment as the new Chair of the Safer Roads Sooner Advisory Committee.

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST UPON US

By the time this edition of the Grapevine is on the streets, we will be within a few weeks of yet another Christmas and I’m sure like me, you all wonder where the past 12 months have gone.  There is also no doubt that they seem to come around much faster every year.  It has been another year of considerable achievement much of which I have been able to report to you through my regular Grapevine columns and my Millars Mailbag newsletter.  I look forward to working with you all in 2014 to make our substantial part of the huge Moreton Bay Regional Council an even better place to live.

QLD Plan – QLD of the Future 

The Queensland Plan Summit took place in Brisbane last month and I had the pleasure of attending.  Many issues were raised and debated and there were a number of priorities discussed that will benefit the Pine Rivers Electorate.  

Moreton Bay Regional Council has released a blueprint for the sustainable management of waterways in the Moreton Bay Region over the next two decades.

It’s now even easier to report matters requiring council attention in the Moreton Bay Region on your smartphone with the launch of a new, free app in the App Store and Google Play.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said the MBRC Request app would give local residents the ability to connect with council’s work teams by just a few taps on a smartphone screen.
