Christmas time, with its Public Holidays sees our residents and shop owners alike in the desire to spend time with their families.  Some of the businesses I was able to contact are not operating a whole lot differently i.e. just closed for the designated Public Holidays, but others will vary their hours for part or all of the Christmas/New Year period.  Here is a round-up of some that may impact on you – for others check for notices in their shop window or check their Facebook pages.  (Not everybody is on-board with the social media, so the old-fashioned notice in the window still serves a very useful purpose.)

Dear Editor,
Request For A Fire Water Main.
I feel this is very important to all parents whose children play and train in the Dayboro Showgrounds precinct.
On 29 June this year, I lodged a customer request with Moreton Bay Regional Council and UnityWater and, to date, I have received two phone calls from UnityWater (and they didn’t seem too interested) and one call from MBRC reminding me that anything to do with water is now a UnityWater matter.
