As the colder weather has started the growth rate of the grass, as most people would realize has slowed dramatically.  Great for mowing not so great if you have stock.
If you have paddocks that are going into winter with little standing feed on them then you are in for a bad time.  The worst time for stock is actually spring, just before the heat and rain can give the pasture a good growth spurt, and if the stock are starved of green pick they will clean it up as fast as it tries to recover.

The Equine Solutions Clinic, held at the Old Mill Veterinary Surgery on Saturday May 16th, was a huge success.  The first one of the ongoing monthly clinics had a fantastic attendance, where horse lovers learned about horse behaviour and training from Gavin Todd, and natural hoof care teacher Peter Laidely was out on the day as well, to give lessons.

MANDATORY MICROCHIPPING HAS ARRIVED June09

Recently the Moreton Bay Regional Council has implemented new laws stating that as of July 1 all dogs and cats must be implanted with microchips for identification. Similar laws have already existed in NSW for some time. There certainly is an already increasing population of dogs carrying this permanent form of identification in Dayboro, but our feline friends are rarely microchipped.
