BEHIND THE SCENES AT . . . . . . . .

. . . . The School’s Melbourne Cup Event

As many people would know, Dayboro Lions Club loans out the use of its PA equipment for local events.  This includes a ‘techno savvy’ Lion to set it up.
In the case of the Melbourne Cup ‘do’ they also undertook to set up a projector to provide a ‘bigger picture’ view of the big race.  All was done and checked the day before, then checked again on the morning of November 3.
What was certainly not anticipated was a panic phone call just as the event started:- no channel 7!   Of course, all the other channels worked just fine – except the one showing the race. (Channel 7 is a weak signal in this area!)  Lion Ian went down to fix the problem . . . amid all the distractions of the ladies in their best gear and hats!!
The ageing TV aerial was broken – perhaps a bird sat on it?  Between Jason, from the school, Ian, and a quick dash for a cable by an Apex member, we got the best pictures that the signal could achieve.
All seemed to be having a good time
A great example of our different community organisations working together to achieve the best outcome.
