Aug2015_Students hit all the notes at the Conversation Club
At the end of last term the Dayboro State School Choir visited the Dayboro Conversation Club. The students performed three of their latest songs. The choir was conducted both by their Music Teacher, Mrs Baskin, and one of the student music leaders. The students sang beautifully with such a happy and fun energy. The students were true professionals. When their backing music didn’t play they just sang a cappella.
After the performance the students shared morning tea and stories about their school life at Dayboro, than mingled amongst the elders. The elders shared stories about their school life playing marbles and the requirement for them to drink a glass of milk each day at school. It was a wonderful visit and thoroughly enjoyed by everybody. We do hope the students come to visit again. Many thanks to Mrs Baskin for making all the effort of bringing the students down on her day off.
Dayboro Conversation Club meets each Friday from 10am to 2pm at the hall at the rear of the Dayboro Uniting Church. Everybody over the age of 60 is welcome. Members share stories and travel, guest speakers attend, have sing-a-longs and sometimes do craft. A meal is served each week for a small donation. Hope to see you there.
