Aug2015_Snap and win – Entries close August 15

The quest is on to find the Moreton Bay Region’s most talented young photographers with entries now open for Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Landscape and Wildlife Junior Photography Competition.

Aspiring shutterbugs aged up to 17-years-old are encouraged to submit their best landscape or wildlife photo of the Moreton Bay Region for a chance to win great prizes and the title of the region’s best junior environmental photographer.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Economic Development and Tourism spokesperson, Brian Battersby, said young residents could enter by visiting the Living Smart website and uploading a photo with a description of 25 words or less.
“The Landscape and Wildlife Junior Photography Competition is your opportunity to showcase your photography skills and show why We’ve Got It All in the Moreton Bay Region when it comes to the environment, creativity and talented young people,” Cr Battersby said.
“Photographic subjects could include animals and plants to mountains and waterways – there is so much to choose from in the Moreton Bay Region.

“Whether you’ve got a passion for taking photographs, the environment, or both, the winning entries will be exhibited at the Lowlands Festival, Osprey House on August 30.”
First prize will receive a family pass for four to Australia Zoo, second prize will win a native bee hive or nest box, and third will win The David Attenborough Exclusive Collection on DVD.
The Landscape and Wildlife Junior Photography Competition is part of the Living Smart initiative.
Living Smart is a partnership program between Moreton Bay Regional Council and Sunshine Coast Council aimed at encouraging greener thinking and lifestyles.
