Aug2014_Water, Water Everywhere . . . How many drops to drink?
With so much information now promoting the health benefits of drinking water, the confusion comes from just how much is the right amount to drink.
Dehydration is still a major problem and your body’s worst enemy. Without adequate water our bodily functions and metabolism slow down. Your organs can’t function as efficiently and scientifically speaking, correct hydration has been proven to contribute to your body’s ability to burn calories which can assist with weight loss.
Water plays a vital role in flushing toxins out of your body. Water also helps maintain muscle tone and lubricates your joints. Proper hydration can also help reduce muscle and joint soreness when exercising.
So how much is enough?
Here’s your handy guide to hydration – take your body weight in kilos and multiply it by 0.3.
For example if you weigh 70 kilos the calculation is 70 x 0.3 = 2.1 litres of water per day.
Inadequate water intake is also responsible for Fluid retention and just 2 glasses less than your recommended intake can see you hold an extra 250-500gms of water weight.
Try drinking the correct amount of water for your weight without changing your diet – you will be surprised at the results.
So in wrapping up – Water is a great accessory for weight loss, keeps us looking younger, more vital and keeps us more alert and effective during the day.
