Aug2014_Extraordinary from the ordinary

Discover how an ordinary piece of fabric boosted the morale of Australian and American soldiers stationed in Strathpine during World War II.
Surprising Stories about Ordinary Things will reveal that and more when the exhibition visits the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum.  The Surprising Stories about Ordinary Things exhibition opened here on July 6. And will run until September 28.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Division 11 Councillor Bob Millar said Surprising Stories about Ordinary Things was a showcase of invention, discovery and history told through a collection of otherwise commonplace objects.
“Surprising Stories about Ordinary Things is your chance to learn about some of the most unique and interesting stories that have shaped our history,” Cr Millar said.
The Pine Rivers Heritage Museum is located at Old Petrie Town, Dayboro Rd, Whiteside.
The museum is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 3pm, Saturday from 10am to 2pm and Sunday from 9am to 2pm.
