Seqwater Recreational Review
Seqwater is undertaking a Recreation Review to explore the recreational opportunities in and around its lakes to deliver a suite of management plans.  This review will cover Lake Samsonvale and Lake Kurwongbah.  Seqwater is responsible for providing a secure and reliable water supply to almost 3 million people across South-East Queensland and is the only bulk water provider in Australia that manages ‘open’ catchments, allowing the community to enjoy lakes and catchment land for recreation, while ensuring quality bulk drinking water supply for South East Queensland.  Up to 2 million people a year visit Seqwater recreational facilities for anything from picnics, camping and fishing, to weddings and sporting events.  Over the next year, Seqwater will be releasing a discussion paper for each lake identifying the current activities, past feedback and any constraints associated with each lake.  For further information and to have your say visit http://www.yourseqwater.com.au/projects/seqwater-recreation-review

UQ Veterinary Clinic
I recently had the pleasure of attending the official opening of the new UQ Veterinary Clinic at Dayboro.  It was great to be joined by the Hon. Dr John McVeigh Minister for Agriculture, Fishing and Forestry for a tour of the new facility.  The clinic really is a first class practice which provides both an excellent training ground for University of Queensland veterinary students and a quality service to local animal owners.
The Queensland Plan
As you may have seen advertised The Queensland Plan process is well and truly underway. Queensland is a great state and our future is full of opportunity.  We need to work together to make the most of these opportunities and define a long-term vision for Queensland.
The Queensland Plan will outline our shared vision for the next 30 years and identify local and statewide priorities.  It will harness the collective wisdom of Queenslanders and guide future activities delivered by all levels of government, business and the community.  The Queensland Plan is being developed during 2013 through a collaborative process involving community members, business and industry representatives, state and local government officers and Members of Parliament.  To have your say visit http://queenslandplan.qld.gov.au/
The Dayboro Show
I wish to extend my congratulations to all the organisers and stall holders for once again putting on a fantastic show.  It was good to see so many people enjoying the local event and I enjoyed catching up with many residents at my Queensland Plan stall.  I look forward to attending again next year.
