Aug2012_DAYBORO RSL NEWS

There are very few people around these days that consider sharing their good fortune with their local community and when there is, they are few and far between.  Alex McMillan is one of these people.
He is a successful local business man whose company ADM Business Consultants amongst other things, specialises in placing perspective employees within the Civil Construction Mining, Oil and Gas industries.
Alex is an active Army Reservist after spending the greater part of his youth serving with the Australian Army as a regular soldier.  As a consequence of 28 years military service, it is only natural for ex members to be drawn into “military type organisations” and this is why with his military background, Alex was elected as the first permanent President of the recently reformed Dayboro Returned and Services League (RSL) in May 2012.
The Local Dayboro RSL is known within circles as a Chapter and is sponsored by the Bray Park – Strathpine RSL Sub Branch for guidance and administrative purposes until Dayboro becomes a stand alone Sub Branch in its own right, some time down the track.
As a local business man and the President of the Dayboro Chapter, Alex approached the Chapter members and put forward a proposal that his business would match dollar for dollar any donation the RSL made towards local clubs and organisations over the next 12 month period.
After deliberation the members of the chapter decided that the first donation within the community would be to the Dayboro Scouts for the sum of $500.00 in order to purchase much needed equipment.  As promised, Alex matched the donation and his company added an additional $500.00, all of which was unexpected but was greatly appreciated by the local group.  In addition to the Scouts, Alex also recently made a sizable donation to the local Dayboro Bowling Club, as it is well used by the local community and successfully run by a group of dedicated volunteers.
As a show of appreciation for the community support with Remembrance and Anzac Days, the Dayboro RSL intends to hold a free sausage sizzle sometime within the next couple of months when the weather is warmer, at a time and venue to be advised, and all of Dayboro are welcome to attend.  The members of the RSL are looking forward to meeting new faces and catching up with the ones we already know on that day.
Something that our community may not be aware of is that in most cases, all currently serving and ex serving members of the Australian Defence Force, Allied Forces, Cadet Officers and Cadet Instructors are able to join the RSL and any inquires are welcome.  If you wish to become a member of the Chapter or have any questions regarding membership or eligibility please contact either:
