– NOW A NEW FOCUS
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share with you the very special two days I have just experienced, being farewelled from Bray Park State School.
It started Thursday morning (14th July) with a special assembly which included a powerpoint presentation that blended with a beautiful poem one of the teachers had written about me from birth to day of retirement.  It was so good.  The big surprise – I was presented with a ‘temporary’ street sign of Lexie Bell Street – that will be in a new estate within Moreton Bay Regional Council (Councillor Mick Gillam organized it).  Yep!  I’ll have a street named after me.  The assembly was followed by a morning tea with the special guests and then at first break, there was another morning tea with the staff.  Their generosity in the gifts I received is awesome and I feel so very special and appreciated.  I’ve also received so many good wishes, flowers, hugs and some tears from my workmates, parents and the kids along with lovely handmade cards.  As you can probably tell, I’m really on a high at the moment.  You just do things each day and do your best to help others without thinking about it, but now I feel so very much appreciated and all the hard work over the years has really been worth it.  I’m so grateful to have experienced and gained so much from those years.
So now that door shuts, and a new one opens – ah yes!  I can see all the weeds in the garden now!  And before I can smell the roses I need to give them a damn good prune.  Glenn is shaking in his boots thinking about all the wonderful things I’m going to get him to ‘help’ me with.

Lexie.
