Aug2011_DAYBORO SHOW 2011
Stunning weather for the Dayboro Show this year and there was lots to see and do too. Rides, ring events, displays both outside and in the pavilions.
So many entries in the various categories – from young and old – It fact I cannot help but be amazed at the people who found the time to put entries in multiple categories!!
Government funding ensures the shows go on
State Member for Pine Rivers Carolyn Male MP is pleased to announce that Dayboro Agricultural, Horticultural & Industrial Association has received $9,728 in funding from the Bligh Government’s Show Society Grants program.
Carolyn Male MP said there was no doubt annual shows buoyed the spirits of local communities across the state.
“Shows run by members of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies are much more than just fairground rides and fairy floss,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“They unite communities and allow people to marvel at the local produce, agriculture and horticulture that make Queensland such a special place.”
Carolyn Male MP said this funding was invaluable in helping local societies organise and run the shows themselves, but also in terms of ongoing maintenance of facilities.
“Queensland’s network of showgrounds is well known for hosting community events, but these facilities also double as key regional sporting and recreation precincts.”
