BERYL MARSHALL
Artist of the Month for AUGUST

Beryl Marshall is the Artist of the Month at the Dayboro Art Gallery for August.  Beryl became interested in drawing as a child growing up on a farm and while roaming the bush, she would pick wild flowers and collect interesting organic material.
Landscapes and flora are Beryl’s main subject matter and she always travels with her sketch book and she uses pen, colour pencils, mixed media, collage and even smoke to create works on paper.
When her children were at high school, Beryl began art classes with the Brisbane Flying Arts School and was a member of The Half Doyan Group.
A love of the Australian countryside provides me with subjects for my pen, coloured pencil and mixed media drawings and my handmade artists books.  Mervin Moriarty and Roy Orloff, from the Flying Arts School, influenced my art and way of seeing nature.
Also available at the Dayboro Art Gallery are Beryl’s small hand drawings featured in her hand made books.
OPEN 7 days  –  10am to 3pm
