Archers aim for Samford
The sport of archery will have a home in the Samford area.
Division 11 Councillor, Bob Millar, said the Grange Company of Target Archers Inc would operate from the former CSIRO site now being developed as Samford Parklands.
“Sport Recreation Queensland played a role in getting the archers set up in Samford and council is happy to have yet another sporting group committing to the Samford Parklands area,” Cr Millar said.
“The club already has about 150 members ranging in ages from nine to 83 and I’m sure the local community will help swell that figure.
“The club’s presence at Samford adds another ‘string to the bow’ of what is destined to be a popular multi sport community facility.”
Once work is completed, the 140ha reserve will feature a host of recreational areas, sports fields, hard courts, walking trails and amenities.
