A.G.M.
The Annual A.G.M. and Changeover Lunch was held at The Samford Bowls Club on Thursday 18th March. The change of venue was due to the closure of the golf club.
Gwen Chard stepped down from her year as President, and Digger Self was elected the ninth President of the club. Gwen thanked her committee and the club members for making her tenure enjoyable and wished them success for the year ahead.
Thanks must be extended to the Samford Bowls Club for allowing us to use the venue and the Anglican ladies “Divine Caterers” for preparing, at short notice, the excellent luncheon.
Probus is a social club for all retired and semi-retired men and women. Samford Probus meets on the Third Thursday of each month at 10.00a.m. at the Samford Bowls Club. Morning Tea is followed by an interesting guest speaker. In keeping with Anzac month, the April 15th guest speaker is Arthur Carter, a seaman who saw naval service during WWII. A monthly outing is also organised for members and guests.
New members and guests are most welcome. For further information about future guest speakers and outings or attending meetings please phone the secretary, Terri, on 3289 2440.
