TREASURE ISLAND! Multi-Arts Workshop
Green Mango Theatre will be running an exciting Multi-Arts Workshop over two days this April school holidays. The workshop will cover Drama, Dance, Music and Visual Arts and will have a small performance outcome on the last day.
The theme will be based on the classic story of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and will be run by Belinda Berrington BA Applied Theatre; Masters Education (Drama)- and Biddy Seymour B.A. (Speech & Drama), Grad. C.E.; Orff Schulwerk level 4. Facilitators have blue card/teachers registration, insurance and a wealth of experience in facilitating exciting and engaging performance workshops.
If you have ever wanted to be a pirate, if you love adventure and mystery and are good with treasure maps, then this is the workshop for you! Over the two days, participants will engage in activities designed to explore this classic story, weaving a tale where the children become the characters, experiencing the story from within.
Belinda Berrington, Artistic Director of Green Mango Theatre says this workshop will cover all the arts as well as allowing time for friendships to form and parents to see the performance on the final day.
“This will be an adventure of a lifetime. We are going to explore pirate lore, dance a pirate jig and dig up a chest full of treasure! They will discover their pirate name, meet some shipmates and sail our ship in search of Treasure Island. But beware of the man with the wooden leg!" Belinda Berrington said.
Green Mango Theatre is a professional theatre company, which runs youth drama workshops to encourage young people to develop their innate artistic ability and to provide an opportunity to learn life-skills such as communication, teamwork, self-confidence and thinking skills.
