Choir of African Orphans on new album tour.

Watoto Child Care Ministries, a holistic care program initiated to serve the dire needs of Africa and her people, is thrilled to present our newest choir tour entitled “Oh, What Love”.

 

The globally acclaimed Watoto Children’s Choir deliver a dynamic experience filled with energetic dance routines, urban sounds and the vibrant colours of Africa.  Audiences will be captivated by the unique personalities of the children and the genuine appeal of the performance.  Once orphaned or abandoned, each child has an inspiring story to share, and their journey from utter despair to joyous celebration will fill audiences with hope and demonstrate the great love and grace of God.

The production is indicative of an emerging, modern Africa – a continent coming out of ruin and exploring its true identity.  The children and young adults of Africa are the key to the future.  Watoto’s mission is to RESCUE an individual and RAISE each one as a leader, so that they in turn will REBUILD their nation with strength and integrity.  As such, each child on tour lives in a Watoto village where all their needs are met and they receive the love, care and nurture required to flourish.  Watoto founder, Gary Skinner says, “God’s heart for the marginalized is not just to see individuals rescued, but to see them thrive as their lives are transformed.  The stories of the children are real and represent thousands who are experiencing this transformation.”

Since its inception eleven years ago, 72 Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled the world as ambassadors for the millions of children in Africa, orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war and poverty.  The choirs have toured Australia, South America, Canada, Europe, Asia and the USA, with their audiences including royalty, presidents, prime ministers and everyday people alike.
