Application for a Permit to Light a Fire

Under no circumstances is a fire to be lit without first consulting your local Fire Warden.  Once the Fire Warden has been contacted, he will visit your property and may or may not issue you with an "Application For A Permit To Light A Fire".  In some cases, it may be deemed inappropriate to even consider burning.  However, BE WARNED – should you proceed with your wish to light a fire and you lose control of it, you could find yourself in very hot water – the local rural fire brigade will be ‘turned-out’ to extinguish the fire and may not see the funny side of your predicament.  Hefty fines can (and will be, in some cases) levied on those who light fires without permission.  Please consider those of us who live in your community – Rural Firefighters could be your next-door neighbours or friends but, most important of all, we are VOLUNTEERS (that means we DON’T get paid !!)
