High School Disco hits are set to take Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Decades Festival by storm on October 18 at Pine Rivers Park.
Deputy Mayor Mike Charlton said House Husbands, Dancing with the Stars and Home and Away star Tim Campbell had been confirmed for the Decades Festival to perform the big hits from his debut CD High School Disco.
“Nobody puts energy into the high school disco hits of the 70s and 80s like Tim Campbell who is the first in a great line-up of artists to be announced for the all new Decades Festival at Pine Rivers Park,” the Deputy Mayor said.
“Tim Campbell is the perfect fit for council’s revival and celebration of our formative years.”
With a set list including Madonna’s Holiday to Wild Cherry and the J. Geils Band, Tim Campbell said he was ready to take the Decades Festival on a trip down memory lane.
“I can’t wait to share my fresh and modern take on the iconic sounds of the 70’s and 80s at the Decades Festival,” Tim Campbell said.
Cr Charlton said Decades Festival would relive the best fashion, music and cars of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
“From fossicking for vinyl records in the retro markets to reviving memories of the smash hit movie Grease in the 50s diner and free car restoration workshops in Gasoline Alley – this will be a festival like no other in South East Queensland,” Cr Charlton said.
The Decades Festival also includes many of the events that have helped to shape the Queensland we know to today such as memorabilia from Expo 88.
Tickets and registrations for the car show and shine are now open on the festival website at www.decadesfestival.com.au or like the Decades Festival on Facebook.
