Visitors from The Scenic Rim:
Wednesday of last week saw a coach load of warm and friendly guests arrive to check out our museum as well as Samford in general.  These people were all volunteers who, like ourselves, have the pleasant responsibility of running museums in the area known as the Scenic Rim.
This locality takes in towns and villages including Beaudesert, Boonah, Canungra and Templin.  Each of these towns and villages has a museum similar to our own Samford museum and each was represented in the group.
It was indeed a pleasure to meet and chat with these folk who were so high in their praise of our establishment and in many cases were experiencing Samford town and district for the first time.  They also praised the Heritage walk in the main street.
Other Visitors:
During May once again we enjoyed an exciting and worthwhile series of visits over several days by school children of years 2 and 3 from Samford School.  Interspersed with these school visits was a group of volunteers who work at Tourist Information Centres in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.  No doubt these people took home lots of favorable images of Samford which will surely be a boost to tourism in this area.
Old Photographs:
Our Samford and district historical department which is very active and has nurtured a most significant and important store of local information relating well back to into the 1800’s.
However we are asking if anyone has old photographs relating to “Early Days” in Samford, would they be kind enough to lend them to us for our important records department.  Of course we will diligently care for them merely scanning or copying and then returning the photos after recording the story behind each one.  Photos could also be sent by attachment to an email to:   info@samfordmuseum.com.au  or calling in on Wednesdays or Sundays.
