Apr2014_CONGRATULATIONS ASHLEY LAKE

Dayboro & Districts Auto Electrics are very excited and pleased to congratulate our apprentice Ashley Lake for winning the Gold Medal in the 2013 WorldSkills Brisbane Regional Competition for Auto Electrics.

Ashley will progress to competing in the Final, the 2014 WorldSkills Australia National Competition – ‘The Ultimate Skills Challenge’ which will be held in Perth in September 2014.
The Ultimate Skills Challenge held by WorldSkills is the largest trade and skill competition in Australia.

Ashley’s excellent knowledge, skills and enthusiasm makes him a valued employee of Dayboro & Districts Auto Electrics.  We are extremely proud of his achievements and dedication to his auto electrical trade.

Ashley Lake commenced a School Based Apprenticeship as an Auto Electrician with Dayboro & Districts Auto Electrics at the start of year 11.  He performed extremely well in his Apprenticeship and subsequently received the “School Based Apprentice of the Year” Award at the Ferny Grove State High School Awards Presentation at the end of year 12 in 2011.

Ashley was nominated and went on to win the 2011 Australian Vocational Student Prize in national recognition of outstanding vocational achievement and excellence in secondary education.
Since finishing school he has completed all his TAFE courses with outstanding marks and as a result was nominated to participate in the WorldSkills Competition for the Brisbane region.
He participated in the competition at the end of last year and after a day of extensive testing, he won the Gold Medal in Automotive Electrical.

He was officially presented with his medal at the Awards Ceremony on 30th November and will now advance to compete at the National WorldSkills Competition in Perth in September this year against other Australian State winners.

Good luck Ashley!
