We held our very successful first meeting for the year on Friday 17th January and had over 100 members attend whilst signing on several new members. Plenty of information on all the new courses on offer was provided.
Our next meeting on Friday 21st February at Bray Hall, Petrie will be “THE EYES HAVE IT- AN EXPO ON VISION IMPAIRMENT”.
Representatives from Vision Australia, Macular Disease Foundation, Guide Dogs Qld, Qld Blind Association, Moreton Bay Regional Council Library, Pacific Vision Equipment, Quantum and Human Ware, Retina Australia and Aid for the Blind will be in attendance to answer all your questions about your sight, and to let you know what goods and services are available today to enhance or correct any vision problems you may have. The day starts at the earlier time of 9.00am.
The event will be at Bray Hall Cnr Cooke and O’Loan Streets, Petrie. Take the opportunity to socialise, meet the new members as well as booking for theatre, bus trips and hear about our classes in art, relaxation, Australian Stock Exchange. We are keen to form a band – Can you play an instrument? Come along and have some fun. Entry is FREE and visitors and prospective members are welcome. Date to remember – FRIDAY 21st MARCH: Our AGM will be held at 10am at Club Pine Rivers prior to our 21st Anniversary Celebratory Luncheon at 11.30am. Along with Life Members we have invited guests from both Moreton Bay Regional Council and State Government. Bookings for the 2 course luncheon ($30 members and $35 non-members) can be made by contacting Val Doogan on 3886 1065, or to obtain further details.
