U3A member Jean Sheehan, a member of the Needle and Thread class was encouraged to give a talk on Silk.  Jean has a great knowledge of the Indian and Thai silk industry and provided a laptop presentation and demonstration on how to fit and wear a sari – very gracefully.  Her talk was accepted enthusiastically by the other students and Class Tutor Jean Green. 

 

U3A Pine Rivers Inc will be holding its End of Year Lunch/Christmas Party in the Poppy Room at North’s Leagues and Services Club, 1347 Anzac Ave, Kallangur on Monday 9th December starting at 11am.  Cost is $38 for members and there will be a stack of prizes to be won and great entertainment to be had. Payment can be made either online through our Website or at King’s Cottage on Wednesdays between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

 

This will be our last get together for the year but if you would like to talk to us about upcoming courses for next year or membership we will be attending King’s Cottage on most Wednesdays until our courses start again next year.  Please phone 3321 0681 first to ensure some one is available to see you.  

 

Our first meeting in the 2014 year will be at Bray Hall, O’Loan Street, Petrie on Friday 17th January starting at 10.00am.  Light refreshments will be available for a gold coin donation and raffle tickets available at the door.  Entry is FREE.  Come and join our friendly crowd.
