May2013_MASSAGE MARATHON RESULTS for Thai Village
A big THANK YOU from Nee, Lorraine and Valerie for all the well wishes, donations and support for our Massage Marathon and raffles. With the help of the generous people of Dayboro, Samford, Morayfield and surrounding districts, we have achieved our goals.
We made a difference in the Dong Kwang village in North East Thailand.
THE HOUSE WAS BUILT- it was blessed by the village Monks and named “Dayboro House”.
10 TABLES AND CHAIRS DELIVERED TO DONG KWANG SCHOOL – with ice-creams enjoyed by happy students on the day.
EDUCATIONAL -THAI/ENGLISH BOOKS SUPPLIED -the children flocked to our afternoon English lessons.
NARM HAS RETURNED TO SCHOOL – books, bus fares, uniforms and fees for this year have been paid.
READING GLASSES DISTRIBUTED – smiles and tears reflected much gratitude.
ONGOING AID: With community support we will continue to provide necessary aid for the village. Any reading glasses that you no longer require can be dropped into Valerie’s Massage Rooms, or at our tent site on Dayboro Day (behind Hay Cottage).
As well, all monies raised from Nee and Valerie’s massages on Dayboro Day will be donated to the village. Please ring Valerie on 0418 725 908 if you would like to pre-book a massage
We are happy to report that the money raised was well spent and your generosity was much appreciated.
(Just think! Every dollar is going to assist this Thai village – a much better result than when going with mainstream aid organisations. Nee’s links with this village helps in determining that the money is not only spent on what is most needed, but also that it represents a reasonable value, i.e. based on their economy not our economy’s higher prices.
