DAYBORO PONY CLUB
R.D.A.  Charity Team Penning on Saturday 16th March 2013
~ starting at 8.30am ~
Pony Club has begun once again with a wet start.  Our Club is anticipating a busy year in 2013.  For the first time in 20 years the Club will have an entrant in the P.C.A.Q. Personality Quest.  Our 12-year old Miss Mikayla Bennett  of Cashmere has entered the competition to fundraise for the Riding for the Disabled.
The Club is fully behind her and we are about to run a Team Penning Competition at the Dayboro Rodeo Arena on Saturday 16th of March – starting at 8.30am.
Team Penning is a relatively new sport to be added to the Pony Club events  calendar for  the children and adults to  learn and compete in.  This is a fun game.  You have 30 head of cows in the arena, all with a colored collar on.  You then have three riders, who, when they cross the half-way line will be given a color.  They then have to find three cows with the same color, herd them out of the pack , move them to the opposite end of the arena and pen them (pen provided).  Sounds easy.  Well, they have to do this in 2 minutes.  There are plenty of rules you must follow, which adds to the game. You get lots of laughs, pure excellence and total frustration –  all in 2 minutes or less.
So far we have had good support from members and sponsors.  So if you don’t have anything to do that Saturday, please come over to the show grounds and watch.  There is no charge……..maybe a raffle ticket or two, or buy some food from the canteen.
If you miss this day we are having a Show Jumping day  on the 14th of April.
We will still be running a raffle to go towards Mikayla’s Charity Quest.
For more information about this please go to our Pony Clubs Web site.  www.dayboroponyclub.com.au  and go to events.
