Nov2012_DAYBORO BOWLS CLUB NEWS
Kitchen members would like to thank our State, Local and Federal members for their support in obtaining the funds $31,818.18 from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund to update the kitchen, which had been inundated during the 2011 floods.
October Financial Day: This day was sponsored by Scott and Virginia, Dayboro Bakery. They are ongoing supporters of our Club and this year joined us to play bowls, and, with Edna Wruck and George McKay, were winners on the day. Congratulations and thank you again for your generous support. Runners-up team was Audrey Ozanne, Kallangur. The raffle went to Jackie French and it was great to have Jackie back with us and we all appreciated her help on the day. Fruit trays went to Nettie, Kallangur and Rosemary, Deception Bay.
3-Day Carnival Lismore: Two teams from our Club attended this Carnival for the first time. Can’t report too much. All they said was "what happened in Lismore stays in Lismore", however they have booked again for next year, and all agreed it was a lot of fun and a great experience.
Friday Night Meals: These continue to be popular. The last meal for 2012 is 7 December and they recommence on Friday 18 January 2013.
Wednesday, ladies day, but men are welcome. Morning tea 9am. Play 9.30am. $5 to play. Bring your own lunch. If you would like to come along and try out the game, just wear flat shoes, and bowls can be provided.
Eleanor Williams,
Secretary.
