The Pine Rivers Care Network is a group of Churches and organisations who support others in the community. The Network was set up to identify gaps in service deliver and to provide a coordinated approach to Emergency Relief by rostering days, sharing resources, and assisting each other to ensure that those who are struggling don’t fall through the cracks.
In 2011 the Network helped families on over 3700 occasions, and supplied food to over 6000 adults and children, while 530 new families asked for help from the Network for the first time. That help included prescriptions, Telstra vouchers, fuel vouchers, linen, household items, affordable food, baby supplies, furniture, school uniforms, book packs, moving assistance, clothing, financial literacy and advocacy.
CAN YOU HELP?
The Network is not funded and relies mostly on donations from the community. They are hoping that the Book Harvest will raise money towards a storage area so that they are able to accept more donations of furniture and material goods to give away.
