Congratulations to Harry Thomson in attaining Venturer Scouts highest award, the Queens Scout Badge.
Harry Thomson joined the Dayboro Scout Group as a Venturer Scout just after his 15th birthday.

Harry was keen to start on badge work as he joined when Ben Winn and Brent Steffensen were well on their way to achieving their Queens Scout Award. This was a great incentive for Harry. He worked well and put a lot of hours in to complete 6 badges out of the 17 he had to complete for his Queens Scout within 6 months.
To Achieve the Queens Scout Award there are 13 badges that take at least 10 hours or more work and another 4 that take up at least 30 hours. To receive the Queens Scout Award you not only have to achieve these badges but you also have to show that you live by the Scout Law and Promise as well as having been recommended by the unit, the group and the district.
The official presentation of the Queens Scout Badge will be at the Dayboro Scout Hall on the 21st April, 2012. The Group Committee and Leaders of the Dayboro Scout Group cordially invite all of the Dayboro Community to attend the presentation of Harry’s Queens Scout Badge. Please RSVP by 16th April.
Scouts is the largest Youth Organisation in the world. There are over 180 countries in the world where Scouts can be found.
Scouts are young people between the age of 6 and 26 years who learn lifetime skills and have lots of fun. The Scouting movement has been in operation for well in excess of 100 years.
Dayboro Scout Group’s Joey Scouts, aged 6 to 8 years, meet on Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm. Cub Scouts, aged 7 to 11 years, meet on Monday from 4pm to 5.30pm. Scouts age 10 to 15 years meet on Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, Venturer Scouts 14 to 18 years meet on Monday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Dayboro Scout Group is looking for interested young people to form a Rover Scouts section, 17 to 26 years. If you are in this age group, love socialising, challenging yourself to try new things and seizing once in a lifetime opportunities, roll up for Rovers.
