Sept2011_CALL IS OUT FOR MORE FOSTER CARERS
Carolyn Male MP said the Bligh Government is launching a grass roots recruitment campaign to boost the number of foster and kinship carers in Queensland called Foster a child. Foster a future.
“We’re looking for more people to open their hearts and homes to care for children and young people who have been abused and neglected at the hands of their parent or guardian,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“Currently in Queensland, there are more than 8,000 children who cannot live safely at home. Foster carers are an invaluable part of today’s society where more and more children are entering the child protection system.
If you want to make a difference, then I encourage people in Pine Rivers to consider becoming a carer.
Sometimes it’s for a few hours, sometimes just a few months, and sometimes it’s for the rest of their childhood.”
