Heather was part of the first Skaines, Reeves and Jones team to compete in the Corporate Commando Course that I ran at Spectrum Recreation and Fitness.

Although I have now left there, Heather has been part of my exercise programs in some form or other ever since and that commenced, nearly 6 years ago.  Heather now does a Personal Training session with me once a week.  In between, there has been many trials and triumphs, the inaugural SRJ Kokoda Challenge that Heather started training with, but had to move aside to the support staff, because of a recurring knee complaint.  Not happy with supporting the SRJ team, Heather headed up the massive support team for the Spectrum attempt on the 2010 Kokoda Challenge where nearly 50 people were involved.
Her Dayboro home has been the base for many parties and break-ups with her 50th party being one of the highlights.  She can knock up a poem in no time and is always very quick to help out and support those who need help.  At the same time she has raised two boys as a single Mum and maintained a home despite some trying times.
I know recently Heather was involved in the Flood and Fire fundraiser, as were many locals who devoted not only time but money to this very worthy cause.
Heather is a staunch supporter and promoter of anything Dayboro, and a unique person.  I say that not because she exercises with Tom’s Law, but because of her involvement, I have become aware of her intent to assist others.  I understand the McKenzie Clan has roots in Dayboro that extend throughout the region.  No doubt many family and friends would agree with me in commending Heather for not only looking after her family and herself by trying to remain healthy, but for her sense of community spirit, energy, enthusiasm and willingness to assist others in a genuine and caring manner.
