Dec2010 TRANSLINK?S MOBILE COMPATIBLE WEBSITE GETS THE HITS

TransLink’s new mobile phone compatible website has enabled commuters to have easy-to-read public transport information at their fingertips while on the move.
TransLink CEO Peter Strachan said the TransLink mobile website has been well used by public transport users in the three months since its launch.
“The site has been averaging just under 55000 visits per month,” said Mr Strachan.
“About 63 per cent of users have been accessing the site to use the TransLink journey planner to help plan their public transport journey.
“The site can also be used to quickly find timetables, service disruptions and updates, public transport fares, information on go card top up locations and also includes a feedback section,” he said.
The mobile site works on most web-enabled mobile phones made in the last five years, although over 61 per cent of devices used to access the site in the first three months were iPhones.
Mr Strachan said one of the best features of the mobile compatible site was the ability to save regular journeys, timetables and even go card locations.
“This means you don’t have to retype your home and work address each time you travel.
“The website is very easy to navigate, minimising clicks and allowing commuters to connect with TransLink via Twitter, under the contact us section.”
Mr Strachan said the site was developed in response to customer feedback.
“This is all part of our community service commitment to making travel easy for all people in the community.”
