Remain at home for longer

Dayboro and surrounding areas elderly and young disabled residents who wish to remain living in their own home for longer, can call upon Blue Care services.
Blue Care Redcliffe acting Director of Nursing Anne Abernethy said Blue Care’s passion is to support people to remain independent for as long as possible and care for the health and well-being of the community.
“We want to assist people to be able to stay in their own homes for longer, by providing a range of health care services through Home and Community Care funding,” she said.
“These services include domestic assistance, in-home respite, social support, personal care and in-home nursing.
“Staying at home is the preferred option for many people as it is less expensive than residential care.
“More importantly, it helps people maintain vital social and community links which are shown to support positive and healthy ageing.”
The Redcliffe centre provides these services from Clontarf in the South, Deception Bay and Narangba as well as Dayboro and its surrounding suburbs to the west.
Anne said the social support at Redcliffe supports the frail aged and people with a disability through activities and excursions.
“In–home respite care allows carers a break from their caring role and gives those being cared for an opportunity to participate in various activities,” she said.
If you would like further information on any of these services please phone Redcliffe on 3284 2215.
Blue Care is Australia’s leading non-profit provider of community health and residential aged care. Everyday, the organisation cares for and supports 11,000 people.
