Carols on the Mountain 2008
Saturday 6th December,
Mt Mee Sports Ground
Christmas is coming, and this means that it is time again for Carols on the Mountain organized by the Mt Mee community. With generous sponsorship from the Moreton Bay Regional Council and local businesses, we can look forward to another well planned and well presented event.
The evening begins from 5pm with food prepared by the Mt Mee School P&C – with burgers, sausages, flavored milk, soft drinks, tea and the famous Mt Mee coffee. There will be something for most tastes and more than enough treats to make it a memorable night out for the children.
At about 5.45 pm it is puppet show time – always a favourite with the children, and by 6.30pm everyone is ready to settle down for the main presentation, directed by Keith Marsh and compered by our (nearly) very own Heather Foord.
There will be crowd carol singing – led by the choir and backed by the usual group with guitars, keyboard and drums, there will be several items presented by children of the Mt Mee School, and this will be climaxed with a musical nativity play entitled “A New Kid on the Block”, organized by the Mountain Top Community Church.
The evening is expected to conclude at about 8pm.
Mayor Allan Sutherland and Councillor Adrian Raedel will be in attendance and there is every chance that Santa Claus may drop in unexpectedly.
Remember that the event is being held at the Mt Mee Sports Ground in Thomas Rd this year – NOT at the Mt Mee School. Patrons are advised to access Thomas Rd from Robinson Rd, as the mapped section from Mt Mee Rd is currently not negotiable. Don’t forget to bring your chairs and/or rugs – this is an outdoor event. There is plenty of on-site car parking under the supervision of the Rural Fire Brigade.
Receptacles will be provided for those who care to offer a gold coin donation towards costs of the carols each year.
