www.dayborograpevine.com.au
Your Dayboro Grapevine can now be accessed online!
We’re excited! We hope that people find our website useful.
We’ve deliberately kept things simple so that you don’t have to spend time waiting while a host of complex graphics load up on the pages. Not everyone has high speed broadband!
With Internet access increasingly being the “norm” this will enable you to access details from your workplace rather than ringing home and asking someone to find the latest edition of the Dayboro Grapevine to look it up for you. Check information such as the date an event is on, the time it starts, who to contact etc when you are not at home – by accessing the articles or EVENTS page on our website!
Online the edition’s articles are divided into categories: Local Groups, General, Special Features, Sympathies, Business News, Politics & Council, and Meeting Noticeboard. This enables you to quickly find a particular article. Another way to do this is the SEARCH feature.
Community Contact List and the Churches information is all there, including linking to their websites where applicable.
NEWSFLASH!
It has always been a problem that, as a monthly publication, issues crop up between editions. . . . And we would have loved to be able to bring them to your attention. Now we can – via the website!
SEARCH FEATURE
With the website’s search feature you will be able to look up current and past editions. There are only a limited number of editions available at this stage. Soon we will have all of the 2008 editions available online. At a later date we hope to have more past editions archived on the website.
The SEARCH feature is located on the TOP RIGHT of each page. You can seek out articles containing a particular word or phrase e.g. wild dogs, Lions, Apex, Historical Society etc.
This will be particularly helpful when we have more editions archived on the site.
EVENTS PAGE
Did you know that you can submit your group’s upcoming event for publication on this website – via the website?
Just click on ‘Events’ then click on ‘Submit new event’.
What happens after you have submitted the item online is that an email comes through to me, as Administrator, so that I know to log on to the website and approve the submission for publishing. It will then appear on the site’s EVENTS page. We still require a separate write-up for the print publication.
We are working in with Dayboro Cottage – the Historical Society and Tourism Office – so that we feature the events they have been advised of for their Year Planner. We will advise them of the events we have posted on our website.
Perhaps, for a sector of our community, accessing information online may be more convenient – especially if they work outside of our lovely township. For others the concept of the Internet is not for them. We will hopefully have the "best of both worlds" so to speak.
To the Businesses:
If you would like your display advertisement to appear on our site, please contact Doreen to find out what this entails. This facility will only be available to businesses who also run a print advertisement.
