These Boots Were Made For Walking…
Pull out the chaps and put on your hat, it’s all about Country this May the 18th – for the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk. Last year proved to be a great success as we stepped out as ‘Lifesavers’ in our beach theme, but we are getting back to our roots in 2008 (boot scooting roots, that is!) The theme is Country! This year will celebrate 15 years of the national fundraiser and it’s search for the ultimate target of a million paws walking across the Country.
The event first came to Queensland In 1994 as has since gained vast recognition. Last year boasting more than 60 walks across the country with around 40,000 people and 17,000 animals taking part, with our community donating over $5000 in its’ own success.
This year is already establishing itself to be bigger and better, but still needs your support.
The event to be held at the Samford Showgrounds, Highvale will provide a real festival atmosphere with entertainment, competitions, food and drinks supplied by our local businesses and the rural fire brigade, demonstrations, a baby animal display and face painting for the kids, as well as a huge range of pet care products and accessories you can buy on the day!
The walk commences at 10am with registration from 8am. However, why not save time and money by pre-registering by the 9th of May either online or by coming into our practice.
If you or your four-legged friend are unable to participate in the walk, there are still a number of ways to show your support. Sponsorship booklets are available at our vet with all donations over $2 being tax deductible. There is also a range of merchandise on offer, available for you to purchase before the event or on the day.
What promises to be a fantastic day for our pets, families and friends will continue to support and raise awareness about responsible pet ownership. Extending to our domestic friends, farm and wildlife.
Join in the fun, on Sunday the 18th of May.
