Dayboro Community Art Gallery Artist of the Month for February is Trevor Ryan. Working from his home studio at Closeburn, he says there is never anything wrong with art. “If you are happy with what you have created, you have made a piece of art.” Perhaps this perspective came from his upbringing in a creative family.
He remembers playing with materials and paper in his uncle’s commercial art studio as a child. His travels throughout the world, hitchhiking and on motorcycles and bikes, has also influenced his art. The passion for collecting old motorcycles and bicycles continues, and he recently participated in an event for penny-farthing cycles. Trevor has won several awards at local and regional art shows, and enjoys experimenting with oils and acrylics, using shape, colour and texture to develop his work.
Gallery members invite you to visit our Gallery, which is open all days between 10am and 3pm. Our recent sale is now over, and we would like to thank the many people who visited over this time.
We hope that, throughout 2015, we will continue to provide local artists with a place to bring their works forward, and be a point of interest in our community for locals and visitors alike.
