Over the December/January period there has been an increase in traffic accidents in the area, mainly due to the wet weather. Fortunately there have been no serious injuries but it is a timely reminder to take extra care on the wet roads.

I note Mr Bob Neil’s concern about Dayboro’s streetscape (letters, December 2007). My concern is that land owners are being forced to conform to any architectural standard of building design at all. The old buildings in Dayboro are such as they are precisely because when they were (jerry) built, there was no architectural regulator commanding what land holders did, thank God. Now we have absurd regulatory controls about building design that really belong in fascist and communist countries where freedom of expression is uniformly denied to all.
My life changed forever 2½years ago when I became a parent for the first time. No amount of talking to family or friends or reading countless books on parenting prepared me for the experience of childbirth and then the day to day events of raising a child. I fortunately was one of the lucky ones who felt an instant bond, love so great I sometimes feel I am going to burst.

Whilst everything is going well on the “horse flu” scene the National Management Group (NMG) stresses that it is critical that everyone continues to comply with restrictions. A major setback could occur if someone did the wrong thing.
We’d really like to completely eradicate this virus from Australian shores. If achieving that means spraying your hands and dipping your shoes in the tray of disinfectant before entering a local store, it really isn’t too much to ask is it? It is for just a bit longer folks! You can do it!
