Faith & Living Children, Gifts & Christmas

Children, from their uncluttered and innocent perspective can help us to see the ancient wonders and truths of Christmas and bring us the joy that is inherent therein.

Children, from their uncluttered and innocent perspective can help us to see the ancient wonders and truths of Christmas and bring us the joy that is inherent therein.

These three things very much go together.  The very first Christmas was all about the greatest gift ever given, which came in the form of a newborn child.

Christmas season is still so much about all three. I love to watch the children at Christmas time. The formula was set by God and it continues to work so very well. It saddens me to see it become more about drunkenness, indulgence and debt. When we keep it within God’s formula, it brings joy, peace, hope and love.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only son…that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)  Here we have it, a love-motivated gift; sacrifice & cost; for a purpose.

This Christmas, Dayboro Church is celebrating by having the children present Christmas. Children, from their uncluttered and innocent perspective can help us to see the ancient wonders and truths of Christmas and bring us the joy that is inherent therein.

Dayboro School Hall – Sunday 20th at 5pm.  Everyone’s welcome. Free entry.

Gary Levens is pastor of Dayboro Church. *
